Colección Primavera-verano 2013 Dark Tales de Cayley Norman para Toni&Guy Bondi Beach

Dark, gothic and moody, this collection was motivated by a somewhat macabre Tim Burton aesthetic, specifically that of his Vogue concept shoot entitled Tales of the Unexpected.

Keeping the skin almost ashen and the styling definitively Lanvin, where leather meets lace and sheer fabrics glide like a second skin, the vibrancy of hair colour pops in each frame.

There was also a subtle influence by Jean-Paul Gaultierʼs Fall Winter 2013 collection at Paris Fashion Week.

The way that wigs were completely personalised on top of the existing hair to give contrasting fringes with a 90ʼs inspired aesthetic led to new experimentation with texture and colour.

The hair styling is constructed with strong internal shape and form, but softened on the exterior with some contrasting light and natural movement.

The modelʼs eye contact averts from the lens, and in some places is totally concealed, keeping the face passive and maximising the focus towards the hair.
